SafetyWalkers should always take safety precautions such as: crossing with the lights, watch for moving vehicles, and walk against the oncoming traffic where there are no sidewalks. (You don't need me to tell you to look both ways do you?) Walkers should have a pair of shoes for walking other than their office shoes. Most business dress shoes are not good for walking very far or on unpaved paths. When walking in traffic areas with particularly bad visibility (such as after dark in the rain) carry a bicycle strobe light.
