YVCOG New Executive Director

Yakima Valley Conference of Governments
CHRIS WICKENHAGEN SELECTED
YVCOG EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

YAKIMA, WA, July 18, 2019 –
The Yakima Valley Conference of Governments Executive Committee announced
their selection of Christina Wickenhagen as Executive Director.
Ms. Wickenhagen will formally start her new position effective August 1, 2019.

Chris was born and raised in the Yakima area, and graduated from AC Davis High School.
Chris married Kevin in 1984. After college, Chris worked in the private sector until her children
(Savannah and Monique) were born when she stayed home operating a childcare facility.
Chris entered the public service workforce when her children started school and has worked for
the Naches School District, Highland School District as the School to Work Coordinator, and
Selah School District as the High School Building Secretary. Ms. Wickenhagen has worked at the
Conference of Governments since 2011, first as a Finance Officer. She has been the Deputy Director
of YVCOG since 2015. Chris is regionally focused and believes we can accomplish great success
together. She serves on her church board and spends her free time playing with grandkids and
attending community events.

“The Executive Committee and I are pleased that Chris has accepted the position of
Executive Director. As Finance Director she oversaw the transfer from the County’s pay system
to our own, she was also instrumental in establishing our own human resource and IT policies
as well as serving as the Executive Director in Larry’s absence. We are excited about the
future of the YVCOG and look forward to working with Chris’ team to continue to provide the
level of service that our members have grown to expect.”, said Jim Restucci
the YVCOG Executive Board Chair.
